MAGELA is a premium sustainable resort wear brand inspired by the carefree energy of Brazil and the elevated taste of NYC.

The brand started as an idea by Marina Magela, who was born in Sao Paulo and now lives in New York City. Her mom ran a cut and sew garment factory where she grew up learning the trade and absorbing the business. When Marina was 16, she started modeling and traveled the world including Tokyo, Manila, Singapore, Bangkok, London and NYC. While away, it was difficult to find quality pieces with the classic Brazilian aesthetic she grew up loving. Now after years on the move refining her designs, she put her ideas into production that combines the carefree, self confidence of Brazilian girls with the elevated taste found in New York.

All MAGELA pieces are made in Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. We use eco friendly fabrics in a fair-wage women owned production studio where all leftover material is converted into pet beds and donated to local animal shelters. MAGELA is committed to our partners with the same vision of uplifting women and ethical treatment for all beings. Our production process is 100% animal free, using only premium cruelty free textiles with UV protection and CO2 emission control. Our swimwear is made sustainably using Amni Soul Eco© fabric - the worlds first biodegradable polyamide yarn - that decomposes quickly without compromising durability and quality. Unlike other fibers that take decades to decompose, Amni Soul Eco© takes approximately three years to be eliminated from the planet, thus reducing the environmental impact.
